Kamehameha Day Celebration

Every June 11th the town of Kohala celebrates the birth of King Kamehameha the 1st. We begin with our traditional hawaiian sunrise protocol and our traditional lei draping ceremony at Kamehameha’s Statue. It is followed by the walking in of the royal court and royal societies. At 9am, Akoni Pule Hwy will close for a beautiful floral parade. Then join us at Kamehameha Park for our Ho’olaule’a filled with Hawaiian music, local foods, arts and crafts. See you in Kohala.
