CHURCH ROW, MOLOKAI
On Sundays, listen to the music coming from one of the seven tiny churches along "Church Row" in Kaunakakai. Some of these picturesque churches date back to the late 19th century.
The music is lovely and is usually sung in Hawaiian. Himeni (hymns) were the first Hawaiian songs composed after the introduction of Western musical instruments and melody. There's nothing like hearing "Amazing Grace" in Hawaiian. These missionary-style churches and the music within them transport you back in time.
